In 2012 British Overseas Company engaged Mikaso to create a conceptual design for a high-end residential project and won the bid. Mikaso developed the design for a 65-unit super luxury apartment complex, featuring two basement parking levels, eight floors, and a rooftop pool with amenities.
For additional funding and marketing, the owner, Mr. Nilanka Rajapakse, partnered with John Keells Holdings (JKH), which desired foreign architectural input, leading to the commissioning of P&T Singapore. Mikaso worked closely with P&T to adjust the design to meet marketing demands, securing necessary statutory clearances and approvals. This collaboration infused the project with a blend of local sensitivity and international architectural excellence.
An abstract, elevated interpretation of luxury and locality is expressed through a profound connection to the surrounding materiality
As the local consultant, Mikaso harmonized the projects design with the historic and architectural fabric of Gregory’s Road Colombo. The design reflects a modernist principle, creating a façade that resonate with the neighbourhood’s late British period bungalows and lush streetscape. The use of high-quality materials and attention to detail elevate the aesthetic and functional aspects of the building.
Mikaso also managed construction, overseeing project management and coordinating a team of consultants. Our responsibilities included architectural design review, securing approvals, assisting with the tender process, and full construction management.
